MANILA, Philippines — Greg Slaughter can’t wait to be back on the court after taking a surprise sabbatical last February.
Slaughter, like many Filipino basketball fans on Friday night, was revved up after being treated to a series of games that started with a pair of do-or-die Philippine Cup semifinals clashes and ended with Gilas Pilipinas’ first game in nine months.
“Do or die game for Ginebra and FIBA Asia games for our #TeamPilipinas got me itching to play again so bad!” Slaughter wrote on Twitter.

The 32-year-old center went to the US last February to train after winning his fourth PBA championship with Barangay Ginebra.
Slaughter, whose contract with the Gin Kings had already expired at the end of last January, returned to Manila last month.
The five-time PBA All-Star and former national team member had also said he’s “open to all possibilities” as far as his basketball career is concerned including a possible return with Ginebra.
The Gin Kings knocked off the Meralco Bolts on Friday night after a last-second triple by Scottie Thompson to advance to the Philippine Cup Finals.
