London is notorious for its vibrant art scene, with new and exciting exhibitions popping up each week and the latest one to hit Mayfair’s Maddox Gallery is Sebastian Chaumetan’s Little Palette. For his biggest solo show to date, Chaumetan taps into his childhood and British upbringing, evoking a sense of familiarity and nostalgia by blending elements from the Mr Men and Little Miss series from the 1990s while paying tribute to the giants of British contemporary art such as Banksy, Freud and Bowling. The two-floor space showcases his ability to appropriate different art techniques and multiple art mediums – from paint and plaster to stitch work and watercolour, it’s all there.
